About Chaska

A family kitchen, first and always

Chaska means the taste you keep coming back for. The name was chosen because that is what this food has meant to our family for three generations, and what we hope it becomes for yours.

The Owner

Ronika Singh Bhatia

Ronika Singh Bhatia grew up in a kitchen where recipes were never written down. They were watched, tasted and corrected until you got them right. The dal makhani on our menu is her grandmother’s. The chhole are her mother’s. Her rule for every dish is the same: cook it the way it was taught, or leave it off the menu.

She opened Chaska in Frisco to serve that food the way it is served at home. Dishes arrive at the middle of the table, meant to be shared, with fresh rotis throughout the meal.

The Family

Snoopy, our sous chef

Chaska is a family restaurant in the plainest sense: the whole family is here, including Snoopy, our shih tzu and honorary sous chef. He is not permitted in the kitchen, but he takes his supervisory duties near the dining room seriously, and regular guests know to expect a greeting.

If you visit the patio, you will likely meet him.
